about
The tale of a drunkard stumbling upon a mermaid, who then sends him on a quest to earn her affection, which he declines but inadvertently fulfils.
lyrics
I fell down an alleyway
Nought but a mere drunkard
I felt the ocean spray on my face
And I was finally at peace
Then a mermaid swam up next to me and said
"To feel my love you must
Ride on the seven seas
And give your money
To those you hate"
I had a look on my face, 'twas a cross of
Disgust and burning lust for the mermaid
And I politely declined her proposal
And staggered back to the bar
I say "Pour me seven pints"
And I gave my money
To a man I hate
I hate the bartender
But I love the barmaid
I'd love to see what she hides beneath her plaid
I turned down sex with a mermaid
So I could grant mine own desires
And 'pon the seventh night
The mermaid returned to me and said
"You have fulfilled my request
Now you may take me to thine bed"
And I said "I like what you suggest
But the bed is only for rest
Please take the exit
For I wish to be with mine own thoughts"
